What’s New?
The Forecast page in Forecast Manager has been redesigned, allowing for clearer comparisons and faster decision-making. Updates to the forecast table and graph align the way data is presented across views, helping users quickly evaluate trends, adjust forecasts with confidence, and understand performance versus last year and recent weeks.
- Redesigned Forecast table aligned with the graph for a clearer, more structured overview
- Standardised rows for Forecast, AI Forecast, Last Year, and 4-Week Average
- Overhauled Daily View with a Business Hours toggle to reduce visible intervals
- Forecast graph now includes lines for Last Year and 4-Week Average on both weekly and daily views
- Terminology update: 'Adjusted Forecast' is now 'Forecast' (no change to downstream behaviour)
These changes will take effect on the day of the release (12th May 2026). On this date, our existing Forecast Manager article will be updated to show the new functionality.
Release date: 12th May 2026
Forecast Table
The table now uses a column structure that aligns with the graph, providing a clearer overview of the data needed to make forecasting decisions.
- On the 'Week' view, Forecast series are now presented as rows, and time periods are in columns
Intervals are now represented as sub-rows on the 'Day' view.
Rows included:
- Forecast (previously Adjusted Forecast) - The forecast used by downstream systems such as HotSchedules, Macromatix, WFM UK, and Inventory. This is a label change only; downstream behaviour and integrations remain unchanged
- AI Forecast - The latest AI Forecast generated by Fourth's Forecast Engine
- Last Year - Actuals from the same weekday last year (for example, this Monday compared with Monday last year, not the same calendar date)
- 4-Week Average: The average actuals for the same weekday across the last four weeks
- Actuals - The actual values for each day/date
'Last Year' and '4 Weeks Average' Tooltips
As shown in the tooltip explanation (Fig.3), the 'Last Year' % indicator uses the calculation:
(Forecast minus Last Year Actuals) divided by Last Year Actuals
The '4 Weeks Average' % indicator compares the average value to the equivalent four-week period from the previous year. Again, this is shown in the tooltip explanation (Fig.4).
Forecast Table – 'Day' View
For improved readability and focus, the 'Day' view of the Forecast Table has been overhauled.
- Use the Business Hours toggle to show only the hours when the location is open, reducing the number of intervals displayed for a cleaner, more actionable view
Forecast Graph
The graph now includes data for Forecast, AI Forecast, Last Year, and 4-Week Average. These series are available in both the weekly and daily views, enabling quick visual comparison across time horizons.
