What’s New?

• Absence Code Refactor (Sickness)
  As part of our ongoing commitment to platform stability, we have completed a major back‑end refactor of the absence code and data storage layer for employee sickness absence.

  The refactor addresses several legacy root causes that have historically contributed to absence-related issues, and we anticipate a meaningful reduction in incidents in this area from now on.

  With a stable foundation now in place, the focus can shift from remediation to innovation. This work enables future enhancements to sickness absence functionality, including support for hourly and part‑day absences, with further improvements planned.

Important: This refactor applies to all sickness absences created on or after 23rd April 2026. Absences created before this date will continue to operate under the previous code, which will remain in place until the last of those absences has ended, at which point the legacy code will reach end of life and no longer be used by your portal.
