The Change
An enhancement has been made to take apprenticeships into account when updating an Employee’s rate / salary based on Job Title rates as part of an overnight job.Release Date: 9th June 2016
Reason for the Change
PeopleSystem currently increases the rate / salary of an Employee to the relevant rate on the Job Title when the Employee has a certain birthday and their rate / salary is currently below the Job Title rate / salary for the age they reach. The purpose of this change is to prevent an Apprentice’s rate / salary to be uplifted to the age related Job Title rate / salary on the Employee’s birthday if NMW rules do not require this to occur. Furthermore, the purpose is to increase the rate / salary according to the age related Job Title rate / salary when the Employee’s Apprentice status changes.
There has also been a refinement to the uplift on a non-Apprentice’s 16th and 17th birthday.
Customers Affected
All People System customers who have Job Title rates / salaries and have Apprentices in the system may be affected by the Apprenticeship related update. An Apprentice is an Employee who has the “Apprentice” flag ticked on the Employment details page and is currently an Apprentice according to start and end date of the Apprenticeship. All People System customers may be affected by the rate uplift on the Employee’s 16th and 17th birthday.
