What’s Changing?
Introduction of an improved way of assigning shifts when using a tablet device.
There are no changes to how the shifts are copied/moved when using a desktop browser
Reason for the Change
Managers can now tap on the desired shift, see it onscreen and then quickly scroll and assign it to the required employee. This is a much easier, simpler method than the previous 'drag and drop' one, especially for departments with a large number of employees.

- Using a tablet device, open the Scheduling page and select/tap the shift you would like to assign
The shift will appear on top of the page.

The shift will then be assigned.
'Hours Worked' and 'Shift Times' Exports

What's Changing?
Introduction of two new exports under 'Employee Hours Worked' - 'Hours Worked' and 'Shift Times'.
Reason for Change
Allows customers to export up to 84 days' worth of shift-related data into a CSV export.

Access to the exports will be behind user-level permission.
User Level Permission
A User-Level Permission called “View Employee Hours Worked Export” is required for users to be able to view the export.
- Go to Settings > User Configuration > User Levels
- Select Edit against the relevant User Level
- In the 'Reports' section, tick the box against View Employee Hours Worked Export and then Save

Running the Exports

Go to Reporting > Employee Hours Worked Export

- For the Type, select either HoursWorked or ShiftTimes
- Select All or a specific Location that the user has access to
- Select a date range - the export is restricted to 84 days
- Then select OK

This will schedule the export to be generated. The exports work on a scheduler and every 1 minute any newly created exports are generated. This is to preserve performance and generate the files offline.
The export will be downloaded as a CSV file.
The columns for the Shift Times export are listed below.

What's Changing?
Based on their age, It is now possible to prevent certain employees from being scheduled to work over a certain number of hours per business day.
Reason for Change
To help businesses ensure that their employees are working the correct number of hours, based on their age.

Scheduling restrictions can be added to the following groups of workers based on their age in their employee records and the maximum number of hours per day they can work.
- All
- Under 16
- Under 18
- Over 18
If a manager attempts to schedule an employee for a number of hours that exceeds their restriction, a notification message will be displayed (see Fig.6) and they will be prevented from doing so.

Configuration
Fourth will deploy a customer admin setting soon for customers to be able to configure these restrictions themselves. However, if you wish to implement this functionality today then please complete the below table and submit a request with Fourth's support team.
Please note: If All is selected then no other restrictions will be applied - the 'max hours per day' will affect all employees, regardless of age.
