Report Refinements: Local Sales/Local Sales History Report, Exclude Unplanned Items
- Enabled by Default? - Yes
- Set up by customer Admin? - No
- Enable via Support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - No
- Roles Affected: - if applicable
What's Changing?
The Local Sales/Local Sales History report has been changed to allow the exclusion of 'unplanned' items.
Reason for the Change
Increases flexibility to include or exclude relevant data on the report.
Customers Affected
The report is available to local users of the Menu Cycles app.
Release Note Info/Steps
The Local Sales report can be accessed and run via a day's Post-Production tab (PDF format) or the main Reports area in Menu Cycles (CSV format).
Local Sales Report, PDF Version, Accessed via Post-Production
- Log in at local level and select a menu cycle
- Select a day and go to Daily Planning
- Go to the Post-Production tab
- To not display any items with a 'Planned' quantity of 0, tick Hide Unplanned in the top right corner
- Then, if running the Local sales report from this screen, the same unplanned items will not be included in it
Fig.1 - Post-Production tab, an unplanned item
Additionally, the report layout has been refined so that when there is more than one meal period for the date, there will be a page break between them (on the PDF version of the report).
Note on tariffs: All tariffs for the 'planned' menu cycle item will display on the PDF report, even if the tariff itself has a 'planned quantity' of 0. The status of 'planned' or 'unplanned' is determined by the 'planned quantity' of the recipe (stand-alone or a la carte menu recipes) or buffet menu, not the 'planned quantity' of the tariff.
Local Sales History Report, CSV Version, Accessed via the Reports Tab
- Log in at local level and select a menu cycle
- Go to the Reports tab and select Local Sales History Report
This report has been changed so that only 'planned items', i.e. items with a planned quantity greater than 0 are returned by default.
- To have all items (planned and unplanned) in the report, tick Include unplanned items before selecting Export

In the CSV version of the report, '0' values will now be displayed as blank cells - see Fig.3.

A Reminder of existing report requirements and 'planned quantity' logic
- There have been no changes to the existing mandatory 'date range' and 'meal periods' report parameters
- A prerequisite for any item to appear on the report is that it must have been saved in Planning for the specified date range. This is existing behaviour and has not changed.
- Buffet menus, planned quantity: For Buffet Menus to be considered as having a planned quantity greater than '0', there must be a value greater than '0' at menu level. Also, if a buffet recipe has a planned quantity of 0, it will not appear on the report unless the Include unplanned items box is ticked.
Edit Meal Period, New Recipe/Menu Filter
- Enabled by Default? - Yes

'Added Items' Included in Mass Update, Update Price Search Results
- Enabled by Default? - Yes
- Set up by customer Admin? - No
- Enable via Support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - No
- Roles Affected: - Central Users
What's Changing?
The search results for Mass Update, Update Price, will now include 'Added Items'.
Reason for the Change
To increase the range of menu cycle items for which prices can be updated 'in bulk' by Central users.
Customers Affected
All customers. Mass Update > Update Price is central user functionality.
Release Note Info/Steps
'Added Items' are menu cycle items that have been added to published menu cycles via the Mass Update > Add Items functionality.
When searching for menu cycle items in Mass Update, Update Price, search results will now include 'Added Items'. The price update will be transmitted to local menu cycles. On dates when the 'Added Item' has been added, the selling price will be updated.
When an 'Added Item' has its selling price changed via Mass Update, Update Price, this updated price is not saved in the central menu cycle. This is because 'Added Items' are added after menu cycle publication so they do not have a 'selling price' saved in the central menu cycle's Planning data. Consequently, the next time the Added Item is returned in the Update Price search results, it will display a selling price of '0' rather than the updated selling price.
