Adaco Users: External Scanner Flow Extended For Assign and Replace Barcode
- Enabled by Default? - Yes
- Set up by customer Admin? - Yes
- Enable via Support ticket? - No
- Affects configuration or data? - No
- Roles Affected: - if applicable
What's Changing?
When using an external barcode scanner, it will now be possible to assign and replace barcodes.
Reason for the Change
Increase ease of use for 'external scanner' users.
The initial implementation of barcode scanning in the Counting app relied solely on the use of the device camera. Limited support was later added for searching for barcodes by using an external scanner. However, the external scanner workflow did not support full barcode functionality such as associating new barcodes with products or re-assigning barcodes to different products.
Customers Affected
All Adaco users of the Counting app.
Release Note Info/Steps
The ability to edit barcodes in the Counting app is controlled by the 'Property Synchronization' setting for barcodes.
-
If the setting is Always Sync to CP, barcodes are controlled by the CP and users cannot edit them at Property level. Users will also not be able to “Assign” or “Replace” a barcode in the Counting app
-
If the setting is Never Sync to CP, barcodes are controlled by the Property and so users will be able to “Assign” or “Replace” a barcode in the Counting app
