Welcome to the Synel SY785 Integration Migration group!
PinnedAs part of our ongoing review of technology and improving interfaces with our hardware solutions partner (Synel), Fourth are requiring customers with SY-785 biometric time & attendance devices to upgrade the way in which their devices communicate with their Fourth solution. This means that all existing SY-785 users will need to adopt the Synergy Connect middleware to allow data to be passed from the device to the Fourth platform.
This upgrade will move all SY785 devices to the standard API integration using Synergy Connect middleware which is currently used in all of the hardware devices that are sold today. As SY-785 devices are already known to be end-of life, with support only guaranteed until the end of 2023, we believe this is also a good opportunity to consider a refresh of your device technology and in coming updates we will talk about the potential options that are available to you.

Hi,
If we have a machine that is model number SY780 - can this be upgraded with the new hardware or does it need to be a SY785?

We understand that your query has been picked up by our support team and is being investigated.
For the benefit of anyone else with a similar question, the SY-780 machines do not all have identical hardware so will need to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. Raising a request with our support team is the best course of action in such an instance.
