Customer raised a concern around how maternity leave and Statutory Maternity Pay are recorded and displayed.
The issue is that:
The system appears to capture an SMP end date, which correctly reflects the statutory 39-week payment period. However, there does not appear to be a separate field for the employee's actual maternity leave end date.
The customer then uses the SMP end-date field to record the expected maternity leave end date.
This creates an issue when viewing schedules/rotas because the system can show the employee as being on SMP beyond the 39-week period, when they are actually still on maternity leave.
It is noted that maternity leave can last up to 52 weeks, and employees may return earlier or later than initially planned.
