How many shifts can be added to a day?

Hello Emily,

I hope you are well, and thank you for your query.

After reviewing your request, it appears that this configuration is possible; however, there are a few points to take into consideration.

For example, shifts could be structured as follows:

First shift: 10:00 - 12:00
Second shift: 13:00 - 15:00 to 15:00 - 17:00
In this scenario, the second two periods effectively connect as one shift, since the first ends at 15:00 and the second begins at 15:00, with no break between them.

However, the configuration will not work if there is a gap between periods. For instance, if the second shift is structured as 13:00 - 14:00 to 15:00 - 17:00, the additional gap between 14:00 and 15:00 would prevent the shifts from being considered continuous.

I hope this clarifies the setup. Please let us know if you need any further guidance or examples.

Hi Lee

Thank you for your response. Just to be really explicit - could we have someone do the following:

9-10am passive shift, travelling to site. (no tronc, not counted in deployment)

10-6pm normal shift (tronc, part of deployment)

6-7pm passive shift, travel home (no tronc, not counted in deployment)

If this is not possible due to being counted as contious shifts, could we add in 5 minutes to break them up i.e.

9-10 passive,

10:05 -6pm normal

Thanks again

Hi Emily,

Thanks for getting back in touch and I hope you are well.

I believe the Tronc module does not take into account if the shift is passive or active meaning the only way to possibly create shifts without Tronc being added would be to use a multiple employment where the Job Title settings are not eligible for Tronc.

I'd advise raising a support ticket with the exact details of shifts types and an example if possible so the support team can investigate further to correctly identify a solution.

Thank you and I hope you have a great day!

Hi

Thanks for the above.

I have been told by one of our Ops Managers that team cannot clock in and out for 3 separate shifts in one day- is this correct? How should be process the above if so?

Thanks
