Maximum Statutory Sick Pay

Hi

 

Is there anwhere on Fourth I can see when people are approaching the max SSP for 28 weeks ?

 

Will the payroll module stop adding SSP at this point

 

Does it need to be a straight run of 28 weeks or over a rolling period ?

  Hi Sharon Harkins, 

  You can see the total amount of 'SSP Days Paid' and 'SSP Weeks Paid' at the top of an employees Absence Record (Payroll Module> Employee Record> Employee Info> Absence, or HR Module> Employee Record> Employee HR Info> Absence). 

  The absence functionality works in line with SSP legislation and will stop populating SSP when 28 weeks have been paid to the employee.

  28 weeks of SSP is counted based on 'Periods of Incapacity for Work' (PIW). This is a period of sickness lasting 4 days or more in a row. Separate periods of absence are treated as one PIW if the gap between them is 8 weeks (56 days) or less. More information about SSP legislation can be found at:

  Hi

   

  I can count up the days paid in total and can see if the periods have been linked , how do I convert this to weeks to meet the 28 week criteria ? do I therefor need to use the start and end date and work it from there ? I was looking for a quick way to see how much of the 28 weeks had been used / was left to use

   

  Can you also confirm if we break sickness for a holiday that the next sickness will then link back in and the holiday period will not be included in the max SSP period

  Hi Sharon Harkins, 

  Each employee absence record should display the total SSP taken in days and weeks, at the top of the screen.

  The number of SSP days per week will depend upon how many qualifying days per week are being used. 

  Holiday is not counted in the 28 weeks.

  The 28 week count will continue if an employee has another absence (min 4 days in length) within 8 weeks of the previous sickness absence. The rules follow statutory legislation for SSP.
