WFM Release Note - Flexible Holiday for Furloughed Employees

What’s Changing?
The Flexible Holiday Calculation is changing to exclude periods where employees have an active Furlough status.
Release date: 27th August 2020
Reason for the Change
This change is required because of the way the Flexible Holiday Calculation looks for any worked hours within a rota. This will then ensure that employees’ holiday allowance and rates are not impacted as a result of them being furloughed.

Hi
How does this work when the employees come off Furlough but there are no hours for them. Will their holidays accrued and holidays allowed decrease as no hours are going through the rota or will they continue to accrue holiday up to the allowed holiday.
Thanks

Hi Donna Taylor,
Thank you for your question.
If an employee has come off Furlough but hasn't been scheduled on the rota, the holidays will be calculated in the same way as they were whilst on Furlough, i.e. the system looks back to the last active working week to identify the average days worked over the previous 52 weeks. So their holiday allowance will remain the same until they are working again, and they will accrue up to that allowance.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Lucy
