How do you override holiday for casual employees? These employees receive their holiday entitlement via hours and not days. Please advise ASAP. Kind Regards, Alex

    Hi {@005D000000AKjU2IAL},

Casual Holiday's always pay in hours as they only accrue holiday when they have worked. I have added a link which explains this in a little more detail.

The Casual holiday uses a calculation that allows an employee to accrue holiday per hour of work that they complete. As opposed to all other holiday

options in the system, it is not based on length of service and does not expire based on a specified holiday year end.

Casual holiday is calculated by assigning 12.07% of every hour worked to the employee’s holiday accrual: the more a casual employee works, the more holiday hours they will accrue. Casual holiday hours are requested and

booked in the same manner as all other holiday options available in the system.

Casual holiday cannot be overridden on this basis, and in this instance it might be worth investigating the driver for why you would like to do so, to find an alternative solution.

    Hi Cris,

Thank you for your response. The reason we need to override the holidays for casual staff is because we have recently taken over this property and their holiday year is different to ours, therefore they had accrue the holiday previously. Therefore we need to add their previous holiday on to our new holiday year.

Could you confirm if there is a way in which we could override this to add the correct amount of holiday to the staff that earned this?

    Thanks,

    Alex

Just wanted to add this attachment properly as I don't think it worked before - I hope it helps! 😊

    Hi Both,

Thank you for the information. But I believe this does not answer how can I add hours on to casual staff that have accrued hours from their previous company before we took this over.

Is this possible to do? If so, how?

    Many Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi @Alexandra Richardson

For the scenario you have described above, we can data load additional holiday for multiple employees to account for the additional holiday they had already earned elsewhere.

Please contact your CSM @Alexandra De La Tour  for information on loading additional holiday hours as there is a charge for this.

I hope this helps and answers the question.

    Kindest Debbie

    Hi @Alexandra Richardson,

Thanks for getting back in touch. In this instance you can manage this through back pay through Payroll, or if you wish to do this as 'hours' that they would have available to take through the system, there are several options and depend on your business as to which is the most appropriate (such a lieu hours). In this instance I would suggest contacting your Customer Success Manager as they will be able to guide you towards what the best method for managing this would be.

    Many Thanks,

    Cris
