We have an employee who put a holiday request in which was declined so there is a record of a declined holiday. We now have to log an absence for one of those days but it won't let us as it says there is a holiday request for this date.
Do we have to change the holiday request to unauthorised? As we want a record somewhere on fourth of a declined holiday.

Thanks for posting. The only way to have an absence in where there is a processed holiday request is to remove it. In order to remain complaint and keep the digital paper trail is to 'remove' the holiday. It is the third option in the holiday status drop down and will allow you to search for it historically and pick up the notes. You could additionally leave a comment against the employee for added visibility.
To view the 'removed' holiday select 'View Deleted Holidays from the employee's holiday screen;

select the removed holiday to view the notes- you can add additional if its is helpful
