How to pull P45 after employee had to be re-hired for late payment to leaver.

Hi @Winnie Brown
if the emlopyee has been added as a leaver they do not get another P45.
The tax code will be changed to OTW1 for this payment
The information is sent on the FPS to HMRC and they will give the employee a tax rebate if applicable in their next employment or at the end of the tax year.
kind regards

Thank you Debbie for your reply. But what I try to find out is, how can I get to the original P45, which is overwritten by the OTW1 code....At the moment the employee has not even that one and I can't retrieve it anymore. Thank you, W. Brown
Hi @Winnie Brown Unfortunately, you cannot go back and see what the code was. The P45 should have been issued prior to the leavers additional payment.
That said, the employee should just submit the P45 as it is. HMRC will recalculate and amend the tax code in their new employment due to RTI.
Hope this helps

Hi Debbie, thank you for that. The problem is that the employee did not receive the P45, so I have now forwarded the issue to the technical team to ask to allow to store P45 that way that they will not be overwritten and that we have the option to issue it to the employee. We usually try first to save the P45 before we 'add an employee' for late payment to leaver' - to overcome this problem. However this time we missed it and the employee also did for what ever reasons not receive it. You are right, eventually HMRC will figure it out due to RTI, but how shall I explain that to the employee, when they have the right to get their P45 as a leaver document. Regards, Winnie
