Would you know what report I could use on Fourth to find out how many employees we had in a past time for example how many employees we had on 1st January 2018?

The employee turnover report can be run for a specific date range and the end column will show you how many employees were employed at the time.

Alternatively there is a head count report in Fourth Analytics that will give you a count month by month.

If you are using Fourth Analytics then you can find the headcount report (month by month) included in the HR Dashboard.
