In the project center, can we add "storeroom" items which are drawn from inventory and used in a particular project?

Thank you for your query:

The project center is meant to manage purchases to be executed over a fixed period and within certain cost limitations as explained in this article: https://fc.force.com/customer/s/article/Purchasing-Inventory-Creating-a-Project

If the items are already in inventory, best practice would be to requisition them from inventory into operation and reducing the dollar amount of the “project” in Adaco by the amount requisitioned.

Best,

Rene,  good morning perhaps if I was to explain better.  A product in inventory like a sheet of drywall or a 2x4 lumber under most circumstances would be attributed to Repair/Maintenance.  However during a renovation we may need to draw from those stocks and wish to include them in the global project capitalizing all components.  Therefore  if there was a mechanism to add project to the outlet requisition, the overall budget of the project would be accounted for, additionally a single project report would be provided to accounting with all expenses without any consolidation needed or components missing/forgotten.  Please let me know what the solution is for us to make this happen.

Good Day Steve:

While there is no way of linking a project to an outlet requisition, another way to track costs against a project is by using the budget/ declining checkbook functionality.  If an account line is created for the project, then all costs including outlet requisitions can be managed at a finance level.  Here is an article that details how to set a budget up: https://fc.force.com/customer/s/article/Purchasing-Inventory-Creating-Importing-a-Budget-Forecast-or-Plan

If you would like to request for this to be future functionality, please contact your Fourth Customer Representative.

Best,

Rene
