This is a great question. We would recommend this option is removed from the rota and all holidays are booked through the HR module.

I would recommend notifying users and give them a week or two to get used to the new process and then make the change as any current and future weeks with HOL entered on the rota will be removed once the setting has been changed.

I will concider this option, but just so I am clear, is there a way to make the current process to work each time? If no, i will have to remove the 'HOL' option from the rota scheduling.

No, it is best practice to book holidays via the HR Module and remove the HOL shift type.

 

As per the Release Note, "This feature has been requested by multiple customers as using the HOL shift type directly from the rota bypasses holiday rules set up in the HR module on whether an employee may be allowed holidays that they have not yet accrued."
