How do other customers process 1/2 absences within the system (excluding holiday)?

Hello @Simone Yapp ,

Thank you for your absence query, legislation states that if you work even a few minutes of a shift and then go off sick, you are not entitled to SSP or for that day to be classed as a waiting day.

If the employee goes home sick before their shift has finished this should be adjusted on the schedule. An absence record should not include that day.

Let me know if you need any further information.

Thanks,

Hi @Saskia Dykstra

Thank you for your response, however this does not resolve my query. I'm aware of the legislation you've stated, however this issue relates to salaried employees who may not be included within the rota. Should this type of employee come into work even for a few minutes and then go off sick, we need to be able to record this from an absence management perspective and may also wish to pay CSP for this period.

Also in relation to authorised unpaid leave we are unable to enter this within the system to deduct half a day if this is the approved leave period.

Are you able to advise further?

Hello @Simone Yapp ,

Thank you for your response,

With salaried employees that are due CSP for that day you could enter the absence and the CSP would be paid if they had enough entitlement left.

For the half day absence, the system will pay/deduct a full day even though they haven't been off sick for a full day. The adjustment would need to be made in payroll.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,

Saskia

Hi @Simone Yapp

In addition to the above, I would suggest a Comment Category called 'Absence'.

This will enable you to keep a track of when employees go home sick during a day.

These can be entered via HR or the Day Contents page, and can be easily reported on in HR> Reports > Employee Comments

Hope this helps

Debbie
