An Adaco question from @NicolasCuneo who asks, Is it possible to export/access the excels for locations from the enter inventory page outside of a period inventory or interim inventory?

    @Nicolas Cuneo via @John Edwards,

    Thank you for your query.

Inventory->Physical Inventory Count is blocked when an Inventory Period is not open so the format for Inventory Import is not available.

The Guides from each Location can be Exported via Inventory->Maintain Guides at any time, as outlined here:

    https://fc.force.com/customer/s/article/Adaco-Guide-Details

What is the business case for needing to Export these Guides though?

Please let us know so we can best advise.

    Hello @Nicolas Cuneo,

    We appreciate this additional information.

Our upcoming mobile inventory functionality will allow for Areas (Locations) to be counted in advance of the Inventory Period being started so we would recommend reaching out to your Customer Success Manager after having a preview here:

    https://www.fourth.com/en-gb/resource/mobile-solutions-purchase-pay-and-inventory-webinar-0

That webinar reviews current functions across the Fourth Solutions, so it may vary slightly for the Purchasing & Inventory (formerly known as Adaco) platform that you're on now; the CSM/SSM (in this case, me) teams will provide a bit more detail when we speak directly.

    Hello,

Management is looking at alternate ways to try and improve our inventory talking procedure efficiency. One of the ways I was tasked into looking at was the potential to import the inventory information through excel. I've seen that it is possible through looking into test database.

A scenario that is possible would be to count and input the data into the excels for certain locations on Friday that would have no movement during the weekend. Then on Monday when we start the inventory in Adaco we can just import these locations. This would require having the excels in the correct format in advance.

    Regards,

    Nick

Are there any updates on the mobile or excel import functionality? I see that I can access it when an inventory is sorted by Category, but not when done by Location.

    Good afternoon {@005D000000AEQ9rIAH},

Our apologies for the delay in addressing your follow-up question.

Your current Fourth Customer Representative will be reaching out separately regarding an update on Mobile functionality; if in the future you would like to request similar updates that are not yet available via Community Release Notes, please contact them directly (e.g. Customer Success/Care Manager, Project Manager/Implementation Consultant, as relevant at the time).

If the Excel import function is not working properly, please do raise a Technical Support Case; according to the Release Notes from v4.6.50, Export/Import should work for Category AND Location Outlets, assuming they fit the requirements highlighted here:

    https://fc.force.com/customer/s/question/0D5D000005MQXX0KAP/is-there-a-guideline-for-importing-inventory-counts-to-the-enter-inventory-screen

Please let us know if you have any further follow-up questions around this topic.
