Working Time Directive queries; default settings, batch updates and flags
-
Hello {@005D000000AMrsaIAD}!
These are some great questions!
- As a new starter the system is defaulted to 'No', so the user has to update if/when the employee opts out of the working time directive. The document must be signed.
- Yes, via the Employee Batch Update (HR > Employees > Employee Batch Update > Employee Attribute > WTD Signed > Apply & save each page.)
- The system will flag whenever the rota is opened or changed, to inform the user that the employees on the rota have not opted out and are working more hours. However, I have noticed your rota setting 'Block Submission' is currently applied to your portal which wont display this warning as mentioned above. Warn on Save and Block Submission are the recommended settings for avoiding conflicting shifts being submitted to payroll.(Rotas > Administration > Global Settings > Edit > Warning Settings For Confliction shifts on Rota > Save.)
I hope this helps! Let me know how you get on.
Thanks! 🐼

Hello Saskia,
- Since the working time regulation question was implemented after many of our employees were entered into the system, is there a batch update we could use to update the system without having to go in each employee's profile?
- Does the rota module flags up if someone who hasn't opted out is scheduled to work too many hours?

Hello @Alessandro Giovanetto ,
Thank you for your reply,
Yes, via the Employee Batch Update (HR > Employees > Employee Batch Update > Employee Attribute > WTD Signed > Apply & save each page.)
The system will flag whenever the rota is opened or changed, to inform the user that the employees on the rota have not opted out and are working more hours. Let me know if you need any further information.

@Saskia Dykstra Will the system flag if the rota is in breach of the 11 hour rest period and the employee hasnt opted out?

Hi @Jessica Lynch-Blosse We are about to release this in our Advance scheduling and Labour Productivity solution so look out for the release note i the coming weeks.
If using our classic rotas, there is currently no warnings for 11 hour rest break.
Hope this helps
