Carrying over holiday

Hi @Danni Fasolino Great question!

This will really depend on the number of employees that are carrying over holiday.

I would suggest that adding a negative holiday is best because you don't need to remember to remove the override as you would with the batch update. With forgetting to remove the override there is a risk that an employee may be overpaid holiday the following year.

However

  1. Adding negative holiday can only be done by the Master Admin Login so may not be practical
  2. This would need to be managed on an individual basis which may not be practical if this applies to a lot of employees.
  3. We can upload negative holiday but there is a cost of £240 +VAT and a lead time.

Would be great to hear what others think!

Thanks @Debbie Thomas. I think I'll probably go with the negative holiday option, even though it might take some time, it saves remembering to remove the override the following year. I have admin access so I can do this, hopefully there won't be too many staff carrying days over!

Hi @Debbie Thomas. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year!

I need your advice please - I am putting through the carried over holiday for our staff via the negative holiday request method. However, while this works for staff on full-time employment status, it doesn't seem to work for those on flexible status. The system won't allow me to amend the value to a minus figure.

Is there a setting I need to change?

Thanks.

Hi @Danni Fasolino

I am not aware of any setting, however if the employee has used all their entitlement, this may be stopping you from adding it in.

Please could you send an example to success@fourth.com and I will try my end.

Thanks

Hi @Debbie Thomas

Thanks - @Lucy Cunningham kindly helped me out with this. It's possible to add the minus, but the holiday must be saved first then re-opened and the minus added then :)

Thanks,

Danni
