Hi {@005D000000ANczoIAD}

It is not advisable to change the code and price of an ingredient, especially if there has been a history of purchases and sales against it. There may also be consequences (outside of the weighted average valuation of the product changing) if there are any pending transfers, orders or other pending transactions.

Therefore we would advise creating a new Product and using the 'Replace in Recipes' tool to swap the burger buns out in all applicable recipes. This tool is a quick way of changing ingredients within multiple recipes at once.

It is worth mentioning at this point that you should only perform this task at the beginning of a stock period before any sales against these PLUs have been made and processed. Otherwise, the system will calculate and deplete stock for the whole period against the revised recipe, ignoring any versions of the recipe sold prior to the change.

Many thanks

Hi Paul, just coming to do this as we start our stock period today but where do i find the "replace in recipes"? can you give me instructions please?

Hi @Martin Rigby

This functionality is not available to all users, but I can see that it is available to your Admin usergroup.

When in Recipe & Menu Engineering, select the Admin tab and Tools from the drop down list.

In the first of 3 steps, you will select the Ingredient you wish to remove from your recipes, and select the ingredient you wish to replace it with.

In the 2nd step you can select which recipes that you would like this change to affect.

On the 3rd step you may apply a flag to the recipe if that's applicable, or just hit the 'perform replace' button so that the changes take effect.

The information will feed down to Inventory the next day on the overnight feed, or alternatively, you could go into the recipe(s) and update to site.

I hope this helps

Many thanks
