We noticed that we aren't able to export the products on an Unassigned Guide and import them to another location.

@Halima Duncan,

Long time, no speak-- thank you for your query! :-)

The '0: Unassigned' Location does behave a bit differently in various aspects, including Export/Import-- it's more of a placeholder for Products.

However, if you've found that non-Unassigned Locations behave in the same way, please do raise a Technical Support Case.

We always recommend moving the items 1-by-1 using the drop down within the 'Unassigned' Location, understanding that this may take a bit of time initially but the best practice is that this Location should be maintained before each Inventory, MonthEnd or Interim.

Please let us know if you have any further questions around this recommendation.

Got it, that makes sense. Thanks David.

Hi @Halima Duncan,

Just a quick follow-up around this functionality:

When an item is received into an outlet for the first time it is added to the guide with null values for both purchase and outlet re-orders. This is correct behaviour as the actual re-order level needs to be set by the user.

I have different items that are not new and are not being received for the first time appear in unassinged each month. What are all the ways in which an item will appear in unassinged?

There was a query from another customer on this topic as well! This thread can be found here https://fc.force.com/customer/s/question/0D53z00006AXWMgCAP/unassigned-products-in-purchasing-inventory-adaco

In regards to how products get on the unassigned guides to begin with, you can reference this report https://fc.force.com/customer/s/article/Purchasing-Inventory-Usage-Analysis-By-Outlet-Report

When you generate the "Usage Analysis by Outlet" report you will want to insure your search criteria includes "Products with Transactional Details".

Please let us know if any further questions arise!
