Is there a way for Preferred Name to be used just in HR and not to pull through to Payroll or Rotas?

When a preferred name is entered within the employee record, this will feed automatically into the rota. There is no way of preventing this displaying from only the rota module.

As a recommendation, when entering an employees preferred name I would suggest using something that is obvious and which may include an initial.

Example:

Name - Joseph Bloggs

Good - Joe B

Bad - JB

Hi,

If you would like to record a preferred name for reasons such as birthday cards, I can recommend using the comments functionality.

A comment can be created within the employee record which will not feed anywhere, but can be easily viewed and reported on. This way you still have the possibility of retaining this information without it affecting payroll etc.

I were wanting to enter the 'preferred name' as the name that the team member would like to be called

So the contract name for payroll (i.e. Nicola)

and then preferred name in HR (i.e. Nicky) so then when we send for example birthday cards they are more personal ​

are you saying this is not possible?
