I would like to auto drop new menu items to site before they are able to be ordered but would like site to receipt them in. If not available to order at site can site still receive them in?

That is a very good question, there is a way of setting an order quantity which all locations cannot change and receipt the products in - which is effectively an Auto-Drop.

 

Your product must be first set up in Recipe & Menu Engineering as normal with an effective date of the day you wish the orders to go to the locations or prior.

 

Within Inventory navigate to Master Data > select the product > navigate to Central Order Adjustments > select the relevant sites which will be receiving the product > then the quantities each site will receive > at the top of the page ensure the Type is Replace and the option below is One off with the correct date range applicable > Save.

 

Then the user will need to purchase the product as normal from the nominated supplier but the qty will already be set and cannot be changed, the order should just be completed as normal, along with any other products they wish to order from the supplier.

 

Once the sites have ordered the product you could then return to Recipe & Menu Engineering and mark the product unavailable until such time as you wish for the sites to start ordering this product again.
