Non Payroll Location I have created a new Location where we intend to include people that will not be paid through the Fourth system. We will only be tracking absences, holidays and rotas.

I have ticked the 'Non-payroll' location upon creation of the location and have not attached any PAYE company. When creating a new employee on that location the field 'Company' and 'Pay basis' is mandatory so I have chosen the ones already set up for the other Location (the one we use for Payroll purposes too). I am concern that this will impact the pay run and payroll reporting. Should I create a false PAYE company and assign it to the employees created on this location?

We would recommend that create an ‘Agency’ or ‘Contractor’ Job Title for use in these cases. This job title can be configured to exclude new starters from being paid, even though they are attached to a Pay basis. 

 

These employee records can be linked to an existing or a unique location - it is up to you. It is the job title that will ensure that they do not get paid.
