Setting up multiple employment

Hi @Karen Sheffield Is the ME job title the same as the main job title?

Is the employee salaried in their main role?

There are a few global settings around multiple employment.

HR>Administration > Global settings > Edit default employee settings.

One of them is to ‘keep same rate for same job title in all locations.’

This may be stopping you from allocating a different rate of pay for the multiple employment of you are tying to pay a different rate for the same job title.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Debbie, thank you for your responce.

Yes, ME job title is the same as the main job title. The employee is salaried.

I've looked into the Global settings, the 'keep same rate for the same job title in all locations' is off. Are there any other settings I can check that can possibly prevent me from entering a shift rate?

Thank you

Hi @Karen Sheffield ,

Thank you for coming back to us! This is an interesting query as it could be driven through your system settings. If not, it is a technical issue so a technical case may need to be raised.

We will be in touch soon with confirmation of next steps!

Thank you for bringing this to the Customer Community!

Hi @Karen Sheffield

On further testing, we have found it is not possible to have an hourly paid Multiple employment for a salaried employee when using the SAME job title.

For this to work you will need to create a new Job Title. e.g Chef ME to use with Multiple employments only.

Hope this helps

Thank you Debbie, that's clear.

Hi Debbie,

As advised, I have created new job titles for ME staff and included employee's hourly rates. When I rota them as MEs, the rota cost doesn't change so managers can't see their true cost of using ME staff. Is it driven by the system settings?

Thank you

Hi @Karen Sheffield

You need to ensure the Rota Global setting in ticked to 'Allow salaried employees to be paid overtime'.

This should then include the hourly element in the rota cost.

Hope this helps
