I would like to know if there is the facility to set up training course reminders without giving an expiry date or putting the course against a particular employee?

In respect to Reminders, they will always work from an employee record, and a field that is close to expiry/upcoming, such as probation end date.

If you are using the Training module and are wanting information on courses which are under capacity, thus not being tied to expiry or employee, this can be tracked in the unassigned sessions option from the Courses and Actions drop down. This will display any courses under employee minimum capacity in red.
