Release Note - Payroll Module: Stopping Salary Payments – SMP and SAP
*** Please note: The release date for this has changed to 12th April 2018 (was originally 29th March).
What's Changing?
When entering a start date against a Statutory Maternity/Adoption Pay (SMP or SAP) record for salaried employees, the employee’s salaried payment type will end.
Release Date 12th April 2018
Reason for the Change
To ensure salaried employees that go onto SMP or SAP do not get overpaid. Removes the need for manual adjustment.

Can I clarify something please:-
“When entering a start date against a Statutory Maternity/Adoption Pay (SMP or SAP) record for salaried employees, the employee’s salaried payment type will end.”
Presumably the salaried payment type will end effective from the start date entered?
Regards
Denise

Hi @Denise Aitken,
To start the statutory maternity, you'd start it one day earlier so that the salary ends in the correct pay period.
I hope that helps to clarify!
