WFM Release Note - Rename Unpaid Holidays Label
WFM Release Note - Rename Unpaid Holidays Label
What’s Changing?
New functionality that allows a user-defined name to be displayed instead of the words “Unpaid Holidays”.
Release Date: 26th September 2019
Reason for the Change
Not every day off is an unpaid holiday - it could be a weekend or not the employee's working pattern. Because holidays are booked in blocks, renaming the label to something other than 'Unpaid Holiday' can help to reduce confusion, as employees aren't actually deducted anything for these unpaid days.
Please comment below if you have any queries regarding this release.
Best,
Paul

Hi, if the 'unpaid' box is ticked at the stage where are the days are listed will the days be listed the same?

Great idea! 'Unpaid Holiday' causes so much confusion in our team.

Hi @Danni Fasolino,
Yay! We're glad that this will be helpful for your team 😊
Hello @Sharon Harkins,
Thanks for your question, we investigated your user account and this should be working fine for you now 😊
Hi @Kirstie MacKenzie,
Thank you for your question, we'll get in touch with the Product teams to get you an answer! We're a little confused by your question, please may you clarify at which stage you would tick the box and where the list of days are usually?

Hi, when you initially create holidays there is a box currently labeled 'Unpaid?' (beneath box 'Half Day?'). Once you have saved that page it then lists each day, at the far right of the page you can then select certian days to be 'unpaid' by ticking them individually. We use this in our operational departments when associates wish to request days off pre/post paid holiday days.
I was wondering if 'unpaid' was selected at this stage it would be labeled with new bespoke name, thanks

Hi @Kirstie MacKenzie,
Thanks so much for clarifying! We've checked with the Product team and they have confirmed:
'Yes, when you select Save, the label of the next screen where it lists all the individual days will show the same label as set in the global setting'
Does that help answer your question? 😊 Let us know!
Best,
Rozz

Hi All
At present when when sone one requests an unpaid holiday it will show on the APP as holiday - will it now pull through the new narrative to the APP ? As this has caused confusion for our company in the past

I have followed the process on the release notes and I have managed to change the Narative in the holiday selection - However it still showing on the rota as Holiday ??? I have misunderstood as I thought it would appear in the rota as something other than holiday :(

Hi {@005D000000AK8tjIAD} - I checked in with the Product team and got some answers to your questions 😊

All holidays created, regardless of whether they are paid or unpaid will show on the app. Only paid holidays count towards the persons holiday allowance. In the example below I have renamed unpaid holidays to “standard Day off” and you can see this pulls through to the app and shows when creating a holiday and on the Employees holiday list.

All holidays (paid or unpaid) always show as Holiday on the rota as the person is not working….If they click on the holiday in the rota module then the pop up (below shows the “unpaid holidays label” in this instance I have renamed it to standard day off).
I hope this helps to answer your questions? Let me know!
