UNDER 16'S WITH NO NATIONAL INSURANCE NUMBER Hi, can you advise for the HMRC reclaim for furlough payments would should happen to the employees who are under 16 years old with no NI number? Thanks
Apparently, when uploading the claim if there's more than 100 employees, then having no national insurance number is not an issue. There is, however, a requirement to enter an NI number if adding details manually (lass than 100 employees). This is something the HMRC are working on changing to allow blank NI numbers in the application.
Thanks for the question. I haven't seen the HMRC portal for the CJRS, but I have heard that there is the ability to flag that an employee does not have an NI number. I would suggest checking with them if you can, else going on to the portal with all your information to check there.
