Hello there,

Employees moving between payroll companies will need to be terminated and rehired on the system. The TUPE flag can be ticked to enter the date which will notify HMRC of the change. The employees start date can therefore be their original start date which will mean that any long service holiday allowances will still apply.

Many thanks,

Sophie.

Hi Sophie,

Will their uploaded documents also be transferred over?

Thanks

Hi- the documents won't transfer from the former record to the current record, but they will still be accessible through the former record.

Many thanks,

Sophie.

How will their new manager access their documents? As you know, their new manager won't be able to access their former record.

Surely they won't need to upload documents again?

Thanks

Sheena

With the PAYE transfer tool, which we use in implementation for full PAYE/TUPE transfers en masse, then documents do get transferred as part of that process.

With sporadic and individual transfers, the documents and assets etc. don’t get transferred. Basically if you are terminating and rehiring an employee on a different PAYE it’s a new employment, technically documents should not transfer and should be checked and reloaded. You can extract the documents and reload them against the new record, or if the site needs a document but doesn't have access to the former record then they can request this of head office.
