The problem with restaurants is none of us can predict the future. We have a mountain of data and tons of history, but it takes hours to dig through it to make a projection about the future.
We need a way in the forecasting section to designate special days so we can apply them when they come up again.
For example, Last tuesday was election day. We sold nearly twice what I had forecast because when I wrote the schedule 2 weeks ago, I missed that it was election day. If I had a system place that #1 warned me that it was election day, and #2 said the last 4 election days you did $5000 in sales, I could have written a much more appropriate schedule and given better customer service.
Another example would be home football games. I have 4 years of home football games to use as a model for scheduling. But I can't get to them in the forecasting section. And even the games from last year, take me a while to find and figure out which weekends are most likely to be the best match.
Your forecasting tool is such an amazing thing to save money, but it could be even better with some tweaking. As restaurateurs, we could actually give better service with more accurate forecasts.
