    Hello Erik,

Thank you for the feedback, we always appreciate suggestions on our products. I apologize that this update does not best meet your needs and that you are missing features that you had such as seeing when the employee was scheduled and approving multiple shifts at once. I will let my product team know that these are features that are desired and will be passing on your feedback to our product team for review.

Have a great rest of your day!

Day 2 of the update seige. Yes, being able to see important information AND being able to multitask are, in fact, necessary tools when trying to run a successful company. If the project manager lead on this could put down their Crystal Pepsi for just a minute and admire their handiwork, they might see that they overlooked this Goliath sized hiccup. Anyhoo, have a fantastic day.

    XOXO and fingerguns,
    Erik

    Hello Erik,

I wanted to let you know due to feedback we are planning on returning the feature of being able to see the employee's entire schedule. We are working on implementing that as soon as possible, as early as next week. I have passed on your feedback in regards to being able to approve multiple shifts at once, while we do not have an estimation on when this feature will return we are reviewing and hoping to implement this as well.

    Thank you!

    Hi Leah!

That is music to my ears! But still leaves me missing the good old days...

    So...

(To the tune of The Pina Colada Song)

    Do you hate terrible updates

    But you need to complain

    'Cause you have forty approvals

And one by one is a pain

    If you miss multitasking daily

And getting through your work quick

    Now it's taking forever

    And it's making you sick

It'll be stuck in my head for a few days too,

    Erik

Hi Erik, I'm from Georgia so it's a Coke II for me, not Pepsi ;)

My name is Chris Sundgren and I'm one of the Product Managers here at HotSchedules. This week, we released two new updates to some very old features, Shift Approvals and Auto Pickup and Release. Based on the feedback, we apparently got Auto Pickup and Release correct but missed the boat on some of the functionality for Shift Approvals.

We take your feedback very seriously and it's never our intent to make you want to stick your hand in a hot fryer :). In the coming weeks, we'll be adding back two of the features we left out of the initial release:

    • Ability to view weekly schedules for those employees involved in swaps or pickups
    • Ability to view the location of a scheduled shift when approving swaps

Our fabulous design team have come up with a solution that I hope will "wow" you. In the mean time, take the opportunity to explore all the features of the new shift approvals page. Here's a helpful hint for you...any blue text you see on the screen acts as a hyperlink to display hidden information. It's kinda like finding all those cleverly hidden Easter eggs in the latest Avenger's movie.

As I said, I value our customers and the feedback (cause hey, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be writing this post). In an ideal world, we would test new features or updates with every user before we release to make sure we got it right...the first time. Here's where you can help...click the link below and sign up to help "design HotSchedules". Remember that fab design team I mentioned? They're looking for users they can call upon to test out concepts, ideas and prototypes.

Thanks for voicing your opinion and be on the look out for a new "My Plate" in the coming months!

    Morning Chris!

We still don’t talk about “new coke” around these parts. It’s like mentioning Lord Voldemort’s name out loud... Any hoo, I’m so glad y’all are looking into bring back those oldies but goodies in regards to Shift Approvals, and I’m overjoyed that you frown on self-frying! I’m looking forward to taking the new Hotschedules goodies out for a spin and seeing the new Avengers once I can get through all these pesky shift approvals.

We’ve been with y’all for years and have held you up as the gold standard of scheduling modules but with the recent update it’s turned into being the Golden Corral of scheduling. Unless they’re one of your users... In which case we absolutely adore the Golden Corral (this just got a little awkward, sorry). But on a serious note, I’m glad you take our suggestions to heart. It touches me in that completely appropriate, work safe place...

As far as your offer, I would be honored to be part of the design team that helps make Hotschedules better. I could be the Red to your Eric Foreman, the Hall to your Oats, the Florida to your Georgia Line (too far, I know. Darn Ambien...) I’m looking forward to continuing our partnership and hopefully leaving the song parodies to Weird Al. Have a fantabulous day!

Hands cupped together like a heart,

(To the tune of any rap song)

    Shift approvals released,
    We thought it brought peace...
    But it caused some traction–
    We needed some action!
    Now design is  alarmed –
    Finger guns are unarmed!

    (Leading a massive slow clap)
That is how it’s done, Folk’s! Boy, that’s just a straight shooter with upper management written all over her!!!

I was feeling a little “LL” on that one, but I could have my rap game a tad mixed up at the moment. Seriously, it got me in the feels. Chills.

    Good evening Anya,

I almost started crumping on that one. I really wanted to but I feel like the one stanza left me wanting more. Next time. But I digress.

    (To Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself)
Don’t judge... you know you sing along in the car, too.

For all those updates you made me install
I thought “ok,” now I’m backed into a wall
But I know your team is working so hard to fix
The oversight that led to this sparring match of wits

And I didn’t want to rant this long
Cause I didn’t think y’all would pay attention
But I’m proved wrong you just wrote a rap song
And I won’t be moving on To another scheduler
I know you’ll get better Paying attention to my letters

I used to love HS but I thought that we were done
And I despise When I Work because they’re dumb
I’ve been so wrapped up in this mess
On all sides we’re full of stress
    And now I’ll show
    My fingerguns are holstered so

If you liked the way that it used to be
The next version will be on point
You’re writing code and testing that everything works
And I hope that you won’t disappoint

Bravo Anya! Way to break through my hard candy shell to get to my nougat covered heart! I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next update, and we all can finally get back to work!!!

    Hi Boo!

I’d say bae but I can’t bring myself to put on a shirt Magnum P.I. would be ashamed of, turn my hat backwards, Snap the mundane, and vape in small spaces... Any hoo, I know you’ve missed my imput more than the Spice Girls miss Mrs. Beckham, and although we’re still kinda on the outs I wanted to check in. Mainly I wanted to provide examples of things that were absolutely perfect the first time:

Mr. T’s choice of gold over silver
    The Boondock Saints first movie
    Wiring Kanye West’s mouth closed
Michael Jordan playing basketball for the Bulls
Every flipping grade not having a graduation. (Seriously, it’s the law that they have to go to school.)
    The NBA on NBC
The Price is Right with Bob Barker
    American Idol staying gone
Toddler shoes NOT having squeaky bits
    Joey Tribbiani on Friends
    Just old men wearing suspenders
Van Halen with Diamond David Lee Roth
    Zima staying gone
Jeans having a front, back, and sides.
Dawson’s Creek starting off with Paula Cole’s sweet, sweet voice.
AND... the original Hotschedules approval process.

I do miss those good old days, but I have to believe that they’ll come back and be better than ever. Like Young Guns II. More Emilio Estevez AND a super soundtrack by Jon Bon Jovi, yes please!!!

Listening to Blaze of Glory on repeat,

Wow, that made my Sunday. I really don't want to release the updates this week because this will all just go away. You've got a huge fan club here at HotSchedules. I smell a road trip to Driftwood (or is that sweet sweet aroma of one of Bettie Howard's slow cooked briskets...took liberties with her story, she could have been vegan back in 1867) for a HotSchedules family style lunch and of course an opportunity to meet you!

    Hi Chris!

My goodness! If I come home to find you smelling my clothes wrapped in a paper sack, I’ll only be slightly concerned... If you have a copy of Titanic with you we can pop that bad boy in and all will be forgiven! I promise to hold on longer than Rose did (Still upset about that)...

Your barbecue stalking has me impressed, and who isn’t a sucker for a good brisket?! I don’t think it was legal to be a vegetarian back then, but a lot of stuff wasn’t allowed, and I think fire was magic, too. Anyhoo, I’ll be waiting patiently to meet the gang. Extra points if someone brings a boom box and plays “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” as you walk in! Until then, I guess I’ll just have to be content with the new update.

Standing on a table like the king of the world,

P.S. If Anya shows up dressed like Salt N Pepa from the “Push It” video, she gets a free t shirt!
