Phased return to work - best approach
I have an employee that is full time and salaried that will be returning on a phased return to work.
I have not been able to find any articles to help me understand the best way to add this to the system with creating multiple absences (and impacting bradford factor) and for it to keep applying the 3 day wait rule. Are you able to help at all?
Example:
Employee is 6 day worker, contracted to 48 hours but will work 16 in his first week back
Monday 5 hours
Tuesday SICK (SSP due)
Wednesday 5 hours
Thursday SICK (SSP due)
Friday 6 hours
Saturday Sick (SSP due)
Sunday Day off
If I apply an absence for the Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, none of these will trigger SSP and each one of these absences will create a new bradford factor score

Currently, there isn't a structured system in place for a phased return to work. Usually, in situations like these, we advise making manual adjustments as needed.
