Able to 'hide' gender

Hi,

I have been reviewing the Diversity & Inclusion update from April 2021 and I was hoping for some clarification.

We are in process of recruiting a transgender employee who does not wish for this to be shared beyond the HR team. I know we need to enter their birth gender on their employment record for HMRC purposes however is there a way for us to hide the field so the department manager does not see this field? I thought I had found the answer in the D&I update however that refers to a seperate 'gender identity' field.

Any clarification on what we can do would be appreciated,

Thank you for your post. Unfortunately there's no way to hide this field and we'd suggest using the gender identity field.

Thank you for the prompt reply. Please can you clarify how using the gender identify fluid field would assist?

If we enter the birth gender on the employee summary page, as required by HMRC, and are unable to hide it then having another field available won't help.
