Overview
If operating multiple pay bases, it may be necessary to move employees from one pay basis to another. An example of this would be if a separate pay basis is operated for hourly-paid employees and salaried employees. If an employee moves from hourly-paid to salaried, they must be moved from one pay basis to another. This is not automated and must be done manually.
If this change is not made, the employee will not be visible on the preview for which they should be paid.
Process
If an employee needs to be moved from one pay basis to another, this is done via their Pay and Tax Details page.
- Go to Payroll > Employees > Employee List > search for and select an employee
- Use the employee side menu and go to Payroll > Employee Payroll Info > Pay & Tax Details
- Make a selection from the Pay Basis drop-down
- Scroll down and Save
Alerts
Often, users of the HR module make changes to an employee’s record without understanding the implications for the Payroll module. Alerts can be created within the HR module to alert payroll users that a change has been made.

Salary Changes Report
It may also be beneficial to run the onscreen 'Salary Changes' report, which captures any recent salary changes that may have moved employees to a new pay basis.
- Go to Payroll > Pay Run Admin > View Salary Changes
Recent salary changes are shown on this page.
- Use the search fields to generate specific results within the report if required
