To comply with current security practices, Fourth will be ceasing support for Transport Layer Security (TLS) version 1.0 and 1.1 within Trade Simple, effective from 30th September, 2025.
What Does This Mean?
As of this date, any AS2 or FTPS communication with the Trade Simple platform will fail if using either of these TLS versions.
What Do I Need to Do?
Customers are required to ensure that their integration between Trade Simple and their systems uses TLS version 1.2, using sha-256 for the signing algorithm.
This may require a change to your integration if you do not already support TLS 1.2.
Recommended Testing
Once any changes are made, customers are encouraged to test the following:
-
Sending a document to Trade Simple using AS2
We have provisioned 3 endpoints in our test environment, and suggest you send a test document to the appropriate one. Please ensure that you receive an MDN to confirm successful delivery -
Receiving a document from Trade Simple using AS2 - If you provide us with the destination URL for your test environment (via the email address below), we will arrange to send a test document
- Connect to Trade Simple using FTPS - credentials for a test FTPS location can be provided by request (via the email address below. We suggest delivery and/or collecting a file from this location. Please note - this location will be shared with all partners, so please do not use sensitive information in any test files
Please make any requests for assistance on the above to TradeSimpleTLSUpgrade@fourth.com
What Happens if I Don't Act in Time?
If your integration does not use TLS 1.2 by the above date (30th September 2025), you will no longer be able to send or receive documents to and from Trade Simple.
Who should I contact if I have Questions or Need Further Assistance?
Please do not hesitate to contact our team at TradeSimpleTLSUpgrade@fourth.com
