Release Note: Recipe and Menus: Nutrition Reference Database and Custom Intolerance Values – Fourth & HotSchedules Customer Success Portal

What’s changing?

New Nutrition Reference Database
The new version of the USDA nutrition reference database has been added to Recipe & Menu Engineering. Existing nutrition data that references the previous USDA version will not be impacted by this change.

Once this is configured for your organisation, the new database will be visible in the Import Nutrition Information pop-up window Ingredients > Nutrition > Nutritional Values > Import Nutritional Information.

Custom Intolerance Values
This new functionality allows unique intolerance values to be added to each organisation. Add/delete custom intolerance values via user group permission within the ‘Admin’ category of permissions. Custom intolerance values will follow the same ‘auto-calculation’ logic as standard intolerance values:

Permitted values are: Yes, No, May
When custom intolerance values are populated for an ingredient, they will auto-calculate for a recipe

Custom intolerance values will appear automatically on the report Scientific Nutritional and Intolerance Data for Ingredients. Future development will include additional standard intolerance reports that display custom intolerance values

Custom intolerance values: Can be enabled by request; permission will be disabled by default for all customers.
