    Release Note Inventory: Enhancements to Matching Invoices Against GRNs

    The Change

    A new summary section has been added to the Validate Invoice Against GRN page which shows users discrepancies in monetary terms and in separate columns between the GRN and its corresponding Invoice.

    Reason for the Change

    To make users more easily aware of what the outcome will be based on the selections made using the system existing logic.
     

    Customers Affected

    This is available to all Inventory customers with the Stock Module and Invoicing enabled.

     

    Release Notes

    After creating an invoice which has different values to that of the GRN and saving the system takes the user to the Validate Invoice Against GRN page where the user must select whether the system should use the GRN’s or the Invoice’s value per line item with a discrepancy.

    Fig.1 shows the Validate Invoice Against GRN page with the summary section highlighted  


    GRN Price is Right

    • If the user selects GRN price is right, or GRN quantity is right then the system updates the summary as shown in Fig.3 below

    This shows the user that the system will raise a request for credit for the difference when the sections GRN quantity or price is right.

    • If the user selects Invoice price is right or Invoice quantity is right, then the system updates the summary as in Fig.5 below

    • If the GRN is still in an open period, and a user selects that the invoice price or quantity is right, then the GRN will be updated accordingly.
    • If the stock period is closed then the GRN will not be updated, and accounts will need to make an adjustment in AP as there will be a difference between the accrual and the invoice totals.
