In 1977, Iggy Pop released his Bowie produce album "The Idiot". Contained on its side B is a song called Mass Production. "Experts," say this song is about growing up in Detroit around automotive factories. I prefer to think that Iggy and Bowie had a crystal ball and were paying homage to a special product that would be conceived almost 40 years later; Clarifi Production.
Crazy (and true) conspiracy theories aside; today marks another Production release which means another round of improvements to help make prepping for the day a real cinch.
In Inventory, users can create recipes that contain other recipes as ingredients. For example, a pizza recipe might have pizza sauce and pizza dough on its list of ingredients. These ingredients can be assigned for use by different groups in the company. You can learn more about this functionality here.
Prior to this release, whenever users would complete their prep worksheet, all the ingredients would be depleted from their on-hand inventory. Moving forward, recipes that are used as ingredients in prep items will only be depleted from Inventory if they are assigned to a group that the store belongs too.
Prep & Thaw Configuration
When building out their items in Inventory, users will be required to set up something called a conversion any time they use a unit of measure that falls under a different class than the one previously assigned to the item. You can learn more about Units of Measure here.
Similar to Inventory, while building a prep or thaw item, the user will now create a conversion in Production; streamlining communication between Production and Inventory.
