Advanced Recipes are finally here! For all you savvy Inventory users out there, you might be thinking: "don't I already have access to recipes in Inventory?" Well, the short answer to that question is yes, you totally do! Base level recipe functionality still exists in Inventory, which you can read about here.
However, Advanced Recipes is a new module for use with Inventory that will give users a broader range of functionality and further insight into how recipes work with the menu at their restaurant. At this time, functionality for Advanced Recipes includes:
- The ability to assign ingredients in a recipe to a particular operational group.
- Copy recipes
- Enter a retail value and view profitability
Now that we've got that out of the way, let's dive deeper into these features and find out what makes them so great.
Organizations that are using recipe management will be able to assign ingredients in their recipes to specific operational groups within their organization allowing them to acknowledge and track the regional differences in their menu.
As a time saver, users building a new recipe that is similar to an existing one will have the ability to copy the existing recipe and make changes to it from there.
Store level users will be able to input the retail value of their recipes and see profitability based on the cost of the items used in the recipe, allowing users to make better decisions about the ingredients they use and have a solid foundation to say "that burger is way too expensive".
