Thaw items are items that have to be pulled out of the freezer before they can be used. In Inventory, thaw items will pull from the Inventory items that have been built in Inventory.
How to create a Thaw item
To begin building a thaw item, select the Thaw subtab from the production setup subtab.
If you have not set up any thaw items, click on the Add Your First Item button in the center of the page. You can also click the Add item button at the top right hand corner of the page.
A menu will appear where you can set up details regarding the thaw item that you are creating.
Item will display all the Inventory Items that have been set up for the organization. Status will be where you can choose whether the thaw item is active or inactive. Thaw Unit Of Measure will be the unit of measure applied to the thaw item. You will be presented with a unit conversion menu if you choose a unit of measure type not applied to the item. Thaw Time is the amount of time needed to completely thaw the selected item. Thaw Schedule is where you will choose the thaw schedule that the item should be applied to. Shelf Life is where you will select how long the item can sit on the shelf. You are able to enter a value up to 999 in this field. Minimum Thaw Quanitity is the minimum amount of the item that should be taken out of the freezer.
Once you are finished, click Ok.
This will open the thaw item page. Any previous items you’ve added will displayed here. You can delete an item by clicking on the trashcan icon to the right of the item’s name.
