In Inventory, the adjustment feature will be used to change the on-hand stock for any item that has previously been received or counted. There are two different adjustment types in Inventory:
- Waste. This type of adjustment will be used to cover any time that Inventory is depleted due to it being expired or damaged. When this adjustment is selected users will have recipes and items available for them to choose from.
- Other. This type of adjustment can be used for things like correcting an inaccurate inventory count. Users will only be able to choose inventory items for these adjustments. Users will have the ability to apply adjustments to Inventory items with a negative cost to make them positive.
The adjustment page will be accessed by opening the side navigation menu, selecting Inventory, and choosing the Adjust subtab.
Creating a new adjustment
To begin building a new adjustment, click the Add button at the top right-hand corner of the page.
This will open a menu where you can choose the type of adjustment you would like to create. Once you have chosen a type, click Next.
The next window will display all of the items available for you to assign to your adjustment.
You can filter items listed here using the following methods:
Category - This drop-down will display all the categories being used by your business.
Type - If you chose to create a wasted adjustment, type will be used to decide whether you want items or recipes to be displayed.
Search - This can be used to find a particular item or recipe.
To add an item to your new adjustment, select the checkbox to the left of the item name and click Add.
The items you’ve added will appear in the dialogue box beneath the item list. To finalize your item selection and create the adjustment, click Done.
The next page will be a table containing the items you’ve added to the adjustment.
A - Code will display the item code. This is the same item code that you assigned to the item when building it out.
B - The unit of measurement you are adjusting by can be chosen here.
C - How much of the unit you are removing with the adjustment.
D - How much the item costs individually.
E - The total cost of the item based on the quantity you’ve defined. Ext Cost = Cost X Qty Adj
You can add a new item or recipe to an adjustment being built by clicking Add Item.
To delete an item from the adjustment, click the trashcan icon to the right of its name.
You can add a comment to your adjustment by selecting the comment field at the top right-hand corner of the page. From there, enter the content you would like to attribute to the adjustment.
To finalize your adjustment, click Complete.
