HotScheduleshas two alternative features that companies can use to manage employee requests for days off. One is calledRequests, and the other is Time Off. Both options are contained within the Time Off & Requests sublink on the Home tab. However, users will only see the options for the feature that is turned on for the site via permissions. If you are interested in switching from one option to the other, please contact Customer Care.
What is the difference between Time off and Requests?
Good question! Requests for Time Off will require manager approval before displaying in the scheduler. Approved time off can still be denied once it has been approved, but it will block the manager from scheduling the employee on that date if it is still approved.
Requests, on the other hand, do not require manager approval. Instead, they will appear highlighted on the scheduler, where managers can choose to honor them or not when scheduling. There is a report that allows you to see these requests without going into to the scheduler called the Employee Request Report as well.
