Within HotSchedules we have the ability to generate schedules as well as generate forecasts. Usually, forecasting comes before schedule generation so that managers can get an idea of the volume that is expected in the future week before scheduling for it.
To enforce this, HotSchedules offers a setting that ensures a forecast will be generated before a schedule is written. This setting is called a Forecast Lock.
It's enabled by schedule type, and it will restrict users from generating a schedule before generating the forecast. It will show the schedule as locked until a forecast for that week is generated and saved.
To enable this setting, you will need to navigate to the Settings tab and select the Company sublink. Next, select the Edit button next to the schedules listed. If you do not see the Edit button, please contact our Customer Care team to see if we can enable it for you.
