What's Changing?
For local menu cycles, post-production 'sold quantity' values for a la carte and stand-alone recipes will be sent to Inventory for Locations that are specified as 'not enabled for POS'.
Reason for the Change
To help Locations without a standard POS integration to benefit from Inventory calculations that require 'sales' information, e.g. stock depletion.
Customers Affected
Optional. Available to all customers using the Menu Cycles application.
Release Note Info/Steps
A Location setting is now available to indicate whether or not a location is 'enabled for POS', i.e. has an integration with a point-of-sale system. By default, all existing and newly created locations will be 'enabled for POS'.
To change a location's setting to 'not enabled for POS', please submit a request with Fourth's Support team. In the near future, there will be an area in the system where this setting can be enabled by Admin users.
When a Location is 'not enabled for POS', post-production 'sales quantity' values for a la carte and stand-alone recipe will be sent once a day to the Inventory Location associated with the local menu cycle.
Additionally, 'webhooks', which notify the POS that a change has occurred to a scheduled sales item, will not be triggered for Locations that are 'not enabled for POS'.
Buffet Menu ‘quantity sold’ values from the Post-Production screen are not included in the sales file described above.
‘Buffet menu recipe’ production information is already transmitted from Menu Cycles to Inventory. When Post-production is ‘saved’, ‘Buffet menu recipe’ production information is sent to Inventory.
New Terms/Acronyms
A webhook is an automated event-driven message sent from an app.
POS stands for 'point of sale', i.e. an electronic cash register or other sales transaction tracking mechanism
